Default CX or DX

hey guys my sister has a 93 honda civic and i can't tell if it is a CX, or DX, now i orignally thuoght it was a CX becuase of its lack of everything, it is very bare bone, but then i realized that it has a 16 valve engine, and someone told me that, the engine only came in the dx not the cx and the cx had an 8 valve, anyways just wondering if u guys could list the diference in the two or help me figure it out.. thanks guys!

here's how to find out for sure:

look at the 8th character of the VIN. if it says 4, it's a CX. if it says 5, it's a DX

this is assuming your sister's car is a 93 HATCHBACK, which you didn't clarify. i'm under the assumption that it is, since CX is a hatchback class.

true...the 8-valve d15b8 wasn't available on the canadian CX...it received the same motor as the DX, the d15b7.

Does it have tilt wheel.. I thought that was nuts when I drove my friend's CX, I was looking for a good minute and he was like dude it doesn't tilt. They really do have NO options.

oh ok guys well i live in canada, so maybe it is a CX with the 16 valve. no it doesn't have a rear wiper. and the door sticker is gone i alrady checked, i will be checking the VIN number when my sister comes by next time, iam actaully a little impressed i thoguht that for a 1.6 litre engine taht it would suck *** but its got a little bit of spunk in it, iam getting the car at the end of august and then the mods begin starting to plan now
