Symptoms.

Main relay is buzzing really loud. I varified it was good, it started my friends car. Injectors are not spraying. Car does not start. Constant check engine light.

Diagnosis.

Only wiring changes that were done was i wired in obd1 injectors to go with my obd1 setup. I did it the way everyone said. Cut the wire off going into the resistor box and solder together.

So i was checking out the injector wiring.

When i unplug the injector wiring harness plug. The main relay stops buzzing. The in went ahead and connected individual pins in the plugs untill i found out which was doing it. It was a blue/yellow wire, this wire has 12V when the key is on, and it runs right from one side of the harness to the other. Im thinking its a main relay power wire or something.

I have my thermost grounded to a big guage wire and back to the battery to make sure it was grounded. I tried grounding the black wire going into the main relay (splicing into it) and i get the same thing.

I dont hear my fuel pump click on when i turn on the ignition, but i am getting fuel pressure when cranking. It poured out of the fuel rail everywhere.

Fuses etc are good.

Any idea's what this wire is for?

i would help you out but i know nothing about obd 1 injectors

do you have the obd0 ecu in, if so then ou need the restor box.

 

so it was obd1 before but with obd0 injectors? or did you do all the obd wiring.

Yes. It was obd0 then i converted to obd1 and didnt change the injectors. I finally goto around to changing them.

 

sounds like dizzy wiring.... what dizzy are you running?

no its not. It ran fine before with the obd1 distributor installed. That was not touched.

are u getting spark its either ur fuel pump or dizzy wiring

 

if the car was converted to obd1, then why did you have to cut a wire? should have just changed the injectors and that would be that.

Obd0 uses injectors that require 4.5V, the ecu sends 12V thats why theres an injector resistor box.

Obd1 uses injectors that require 12V, the ecu sends 12V thats why you need to remove it .

The distributor wiring was just matched up acording to colour

There was some wires that got plugged into the fuse box under the hood. I fogot to hook them up because i thought they were for A/C.

I hooked em up. Fuel pump primes, no relay buzzing. YESSSSSSS no cel eaither! Im so glad.

3 weeks of checking and worrying and it was somethign stupid
