I'm hearing a pretty loud whistling noise (sounds like blowing over a bottle) coming from the engine area when I go fast...around 100mph or so at WOT.

It doesn't sound healthy so I always stop accelerating. What could it be? It also used to do this before the turbo, but only very occasionally and at like 120mph.

Now it does it all the time. I heard of this thing called blow-by. I have 165 compression in one cylinder.....can you actually hear blow-by? Probably not...but I dunno.

Please help. I wanna go fast!! Heheh.

 

probably just something on the car thats making that noise from high speeds. I know I went for a ride in my friends work truck that has ladders on it. At about 45 mph the rungs in the ladders would whistle. You are probably experiencing the same thing.

By the way, theres no need for those type of speeds on public roads.

 

You dont by any change have a Greddy Profec A boost controller. The reason I ask is because my boost controller makes that sound. I dont know why it does this, but others have had the same problem.

Art, isnt that Profec B ? Mine makes that goofy bottle blowing noise too...so thats what that is...

 

Well I have the profec A and I couldnt figure out what the hell it was. I found out when I was in my friends car that hid made the same noise and he has the profec A also. But just maybe the B does the same thing..

Thanks guys. I know I shouldn't be driving that fast on public roads, I just wanted to make sure everything was working.

Thanks again guys....it's probably my body kit making the noise anyway. My friend listened to it, and that was his guess too.

 

my car makes those noises too, but to a beat, sounds like deh, deh, dehdeh - you know like from Star wars!

if its not the EBC solenoid, then check for exhaust leaks, my exposed cam gears also make some whirring noises up high in the revs

 

no ebc on shamoo's car, so its not that.
