Default yep, another oil cooler question

I looked through a bunch of the "old" threads about oil coolers, mounting oil coolers, and oil cooler thermstats.

I'm kinda a "DIY" kinda guy ( yea another guy from HMT.com ).

I can get this oil cooler for $25. http://f2.pg.photos.yahoo.com/...d.jpg

And I already have a sandwich adaptor for my turbo D16Z6 ( free from summit, they sent me a DATED gift card ). lines and Thermostat are the only thing yet to buy.

But the question of weither it is worth the trouble is still out there. Is 20-30 degrees off oil temps REALLY going to make that big of a difference ? I'm thinking it should, since a 30degree drop in coolant temp would be good.

My honda has always run REALLY "cool" coolant temp wise, but I'm switching to a "half sized" radiator now, and of course the car is going to lose some of its cooling abilities.

The car ran 14.6@96mph, but I'm going to start auto-xing/road racing it. I also tend to do more than my share of "top speed runs". I know the top speed stuff is dumb, but I can't lie and say "i'll be good".

IMO you don't need an oil cooler unless you'll be tracking your car where oil temps would rocket.
