NEED HELP!! Manual to Auto Conversion Question..
a friend of mine is taking a Manual 90 integra and converting it to an Automatic.. He's pretty much has the swap done and it drives foward and in reverse.. Its for his daughter to drive...
THe problem that he's having is that the transmission won't go into the higher gears like an automatic should when driving.. I'm pretty sure its a wiring issue, b/w the trans, speed sensor and ECU or something...
Does anyone know how to make this swap work properly?? I've never done such a swap b4, so i would be clueless on where to begin..
THanks in advance..

Wow, I've actually never seen this swap done before. Hope you get some help; but unfortunately, there's only a handfull of auto's on here, and even less of them have taken the tranny out...if any. Good Luck
Well the only thing I could think of is tell him to leave the tranny wire that hooks up to the TB kinda loose. Also check to see if he changed the ecu, also Maybe the solinoids. The ECU tells the tranny solinoids to changed gears or something like that. goodluck man.
he's running the proper ECU and i'm pretty sure he's done the tranny oil as well.. THe selonoids may be the answer.. where are they located?
What kinda condition is the auto tranny in? I remember in my friends old 91 integra, the tranny took a while to shift into the next gear. He had to drive it for about 30 minutes before it began to function properly.
