Default Long Story, IAC Problems

Ok well here it goes,

1996 GSR engine with a skunk2 intake mani
1993 teg body

This guy i know was running a P72 obd-2 ecu with a conversion harness, but he had alot of trouble with it so he opted for a P28 with a chip. Then we met talked about the car. i thought of a few ideas and the car is running half way decent (from its previous condition) but it is still having a rough idle and not responding to throttle like a gsr should. It is throwing code 14 which is IAC so i messed with the plug a little and fucked with the coolant lines but nothing gives. do IAC's go bad often? any one have trouble like this? thanks for any help.

you can try cleaning the inside of the iac valve first...also check the wiring..
see if you can borrow a good one from a friend and try it on your car

yes, carb cleaner will work fine. its better if you take the whole iacv off the manifold and make sure to get the "gunk" out of those ports..
