B18A or B18B For Turbo???
im in a dilemma. which is better for boost. b18a is cheaper, but hard to find a low mileage one. b18b more expensive, but newer and more powerful. help me with a decision. remember this motor will be fully built (sleeves, pistons, rods, etc..)

as for this, since the B18a is cheaper and your gonna rebuild everything anyway, just get the cheaper engine i guess

b18a is from 90-91? integras which would make it obd1. 94-95?ls Integras would ablso be obd1. 96+ I believe are obd2. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I always forget the years.

If you are going to be building the motor up anyways, I would say go with the B18A. You can get one for a lot cheaper, and mileage wont really matter too much because as you said it will be built. And what you said about the B18B having more power also shouldn't matter too much, because you're gonna be boosting the motor anyways. Another added advantage of the B18A is if you use the stock cable tranny, it will drop in a lot easier, and a lot cheaper (no cable-to-hydro conversion neded).

I thought that 91 and below was OBD 0 aka. non-OBD, 92-95 was OBD 1, and 96+ was OBD 2+? I'm almost sure that's the years for the different OBDs.
EDIT: here is a site that lists the diff OBD's, so It looks like 91 below are non-OBD, but 92-93 B18A's are OBD 1.
