Default What rotors to get.. Autozone rotors or Brembo Blanks

Might seem like a dumb question to ask, but autozone has a lifetime warranty. If the rotors where to warp i can always return them. They are also cheaper then then the brembos of course. I plan to use Axxis Ulitmate pads, i got a 92accord w/ (wagon caliper upfront) so ill be using wagon/v6 rotors 11.2.

Is brembo really that much better then Autozone rotors, rotors = chunk of metal right!?

what should i do !? and suggestions for one or the other .. looking to get new rotors in about a week or less

Brembo blanks are not any better than the Autozone blanks. If you can get the Autozone one's with a lifetime warranty, then go for it and don't look back.

yeah that's what i think imma do, i was doing a search and read that the "valuecraft" autozone rotors are Better to go w/ "AMICO" autozone rotors but i jsut cant find them for my applicatoin i recently got some wagon calipers, since i am doing an upgrade on my accord ( i got a 92accord ex w/ abs ).

Anyways, so do i just step into AUTOZONE and ask for the lifetime warranty rotors and walk out . I plan on doing some autocrossing, and i do occationaly visit the track.. and for the fall i plan to be doing some circuit racing aswell.. Are the Autozone really that close or equal to Brembo blanks?

thanx in advance

I'd say go with Autozone. I've been using them for 6 months now with no problems. I know a lot of auto-x guys like them because they are a good value. You have to remember that rotors are wear items.

BTW, Autozone no longer has a lifetime warranty on their Aimco rotors. The new warranty is 90 days. They changed it over a year ago.

sure did change it,i found that out when i brought mine last year, rotors are still in great shape, only thing that would lead m to getting brembo blanks is that there CAD plated to prevent rusting,so if your worried about seeing rusty rotors behind your whels, then brembo's are better for you,or just paint the hub on the autozone rotors..

I have alwqays wondered about hte cadium plating, are you suggesting that the plating keeps the face of the rotors from rusting or are you talking about the vented portion of the rotor? I could see the plating helping the vented part, but not the face of the rotor, where the pads conact. I think that many people out there think that the face of the rotor will not rust. Just curious as to what you were talking about.

Which brand is good? AIMCO or the Valucraft? The only AIMCO's I found for my car were the AIMCO_EXTREME which cost $75.99 for each side.

I used to think that, but I was told otherwise by someone who had the plated rotors. It makes sense, I don't see how any coating or plating on the surface would remain after the pads run over it a few times.

Yeah that's my question too!! How bad are the Valucraft rotors!? They are $14.99 each side, as the DURALAST (they dont got AMICO) is $52.99 a side. Warranty is still 1 year. Acutally Pepboys got some rotors called power*something* that are 25.99 a side. Blah, i really bothered by all this. I wanna get a decent pair of rotors i might just go w/ the Brembo's since i my friends gonna hook me up w/ a set for $70.00shipped..

I have the Autozone (Aimco) rotors and have no problems at all. Just go to Autozone and ask for Aimco rotors. They should cost about $22/rotor.

Best rotors are DBA with their specialized vent fins. They have all kinds of choices, two piece, slotted, cross drilled... Rotors make a difference. Sure autozone will do the job but I thought we're talking about performance.

Best brakes come from Australia. I prefer the metalmaster pads to the ultimates.

I checked online for the AIMCO's. They had the $20 for my car (2000 EK), but not my girls (7th gen). All they had for the newer ones were the AIMCO extremes for $75 a side
