OBD1 help
Hey guys. I just got an ECU from ihatericerz that is chipped with a skunk2 chip and the redline was taken down some so my stock block can take it. The ECU runs fine and the car runs perfectly and there is no more check engine light! THe only thing that's weird is that my idle jumps from about 1,000 to 1,500 over and over again. Not all the time but most of the time. It did not do this with my OBD2 ECU but I did have a code for the knock sensor. My question is what can I do about this ? I checked the ECU for a check engine light and the ligt just came on and stayed on when I had it jumped and when I pulled the wire out it went off, so I know there are no check engine codes! Nothings wrong with the ECU or anything...runs perfectly. But my idle is a little bit jumpy. Any suggestions ? I'm running a 98 civic DX with y8 mini-me swap, intake, header, exhaust. Thanks for the hep guys!
pull the Idle air control valve off and clean it out, while you are doing that reset the ECU by pulling the neg. battery cable.
if that dosent fix it, you probably have a vacuum leak somewhere.
i dobut its a problem with the ECU.
