CAN I BORROW A ODB-1 ECU?? TO Rule out my ECU? Located in Upland, Ca.
Is there anyone in the local area that will let me barrow a OBD-1 ACURA or Honda ECU?
Im trying to DIAGnosis my Purge Control Solenoid Circuit. Basically it seems that my ecu is not Grouding the Solenoid at from what i can tell anytime, espcially when at idle. At idle is when the PUrge SOlenoid SHOULD NOT be Purging the Charcoal Canister. At idle this causes basically an idle leak. the canister should only be purged when the car is being driving( this is when it doesnt affect engine operation.
OBD1 vehicle Purge Solenoid circuit operation:
Main Relay(power12v) ---->Purge Solenoid(LOAD)----->ECU(ground)
ITs weird when care is key on Engine OFF< THERE IS ~4v. at the Ecu pin A23(PCS ground). But as soon as you key on ENgine its ~0v. like an open, not like a ground. that makes no sense, because a ECU pin that does the ground operation for a CIrcuit SHOULD Never have any voltage.
So basically i want to Barrow any OBD1 Ecu (with Purge Circuit, USDM).
If anyone is out there to lend a hand, I'd greatly appreciate it!
Vehicle Specs:
92 civic
95 GSR ecu USDM
GSR motor
92 civic Evap system.
I know the circuit all the way up to the ecu works fine because when i ground the wire manually(to door jamb), car idle, the purge solenoid works accordingly which inturn makes cansiter work accordingly, which than stops vacuum leak which caused idle surge and high idle.
If anyone's got some input, lets hear it!
