Default clutch problems, clutch pedal won't come up

This is on a B18C motor, anyways I was at a stoplight with the clutch pedal depressed and as I was about to go the clutch was stuck to the floor. I had to reach down and pull it back up. Otherwise I have no other problems with it. If I quickly step on the clutch and let go the pedal will come up, but if I keep the clutch pedal down for awhile like at a stoplight the pedal stays close to the floor and I have to manually pull it back up. What's up with this??

Does your car come with an hydraulic clutch?

If you're car is 1992 or newer, bleed your clutch system. You might have air in the lines. How is the fluid level on the Clutch Master Cylinder resevoir? Is it low? Check for leaks (especially on the Clutch Master Cylinder. Look inside your car, where the Clutch Master Cylinder "rod" goes through the firewall. Do you see any leaks or buildup of oil?).

Clutch master cylinder or slave cylinder may be going bad.... - as others have said - blled the system first...

Thanks for all the replies, I checked the clutch master cylinder and it was empty!! So most likely I'll have to bleed the whole system and check for leaks. Thanks again.
