i was wondering if anyone has a simple explanation of how to do a kill switch for a 91 hatch i did search but i counldnt find any thing? some one' s gotta know

lol learn electrical. its all easy.
You have a positive wire and a negative wire.
Are both wires active always? NO, the device grounds itself, whatever it is, to become active. The key is turned, this grounds a dozen wires - One being for the main relay. The main relay then allows certain things to run, like the fuel pump, it does this by also... grounding (ya follow?) the fuel pump.

So lets say you locate the 12V+ and Negative wires going to the fuel pump. How does a switch work? It takes 2 wires and doesn't connect them until in the ON position. All you touch is the negative wire, please god dont touch the positive. Grab the negative wire a tthe fuel pump, knowing it goes back to the main relay, and cut it. You then extend either side with wire of the same size, with wire connectors (use crimpers and electrical tape) to a switch.

This works the same for just about everything.

instead of cutting it can't he just slpice it/tap into it? wouldn't that be better...i know it's a little bitt harder but i think it's worth it's..it all works the same. i did it to my jdm headlights for my 96prelude

Nope, all of the wire MUST be going to the switch. If you just splice it, you only divide the power traveling. It is either all or nothing.

 

Can't a thief very quickly hook the fuel pump up to an external battery and start the car anyway? Or is it more trouble than it's worth to a thief?

at the bottom where it talks about the fuse possibly being blown if it doesn' start. well i got to thinking, i don't have a dash so could i just pull that fuse and that be my kill switch?

You're just pulling a fuse. Just keep in mind, every time you pull that fuse, do not lose it and do not forget to put it back in.

you can also wire a switch to the main relay power.

make sure you hide the switch very well and do not tell a single soul where you hide it.

I've seen some pretty stupid posts on here, such as "things you do to prevent thefts" and it included a bunch of people talking about their kill switches and whatnot. that is just asking to get robbed if you ask me. Either that, or a car thief making a thread trying to get ideas on what to look for to steal a car, given the fact that he now has the knowledge of many anti-theft "tricks"

i was being sarcastic by calling it a switch. and i would hope if you were using this as a anti-theft device you wouldn't "just foget to put it back in."

You could also wire several switches in a series so they all have to be turned on to let the pump turn on...like this http://server6.uploadit.org/fi...m.JPG then hide them throught the car, a theif will be like wtf and hopefully leave, just hide em well!
