... or maybe because whomever asked didn't specify they would be using the correct cam gear for the cam used. Z6 gear goes with Z6 cam. It throws timing off if you don't have the right gear.
The same applies to adjustable cam gears. From what I've read, the only cam gear with the correct timing marks for the Y8 is the gear made by AEM. The other manufactures just sell the Z6 gear for Y8 motors and the markings are incorrect.
