What would be the benefits of running the ARC intake tube with the OEM box?

 

nothing imo. i tried that with a spoon filter and felt no difference.

 

You end up with a lighter car. Not because of the intake, but becuase of your wallet.

 

I believe that is the same tube that VadeR tested on the dyno yesterday and with a Spoon filter, Lost 14 whp.

 

Well, your wallet will be much lighter, maybe that will help you to go fast by a little bit.

Seriouly, it suppose to give you a bit better throttle response, but since I never tried one myself, I am not sure if it is true.

HP gain was seen when ARC elbow was swapped out going back to the stock unit.

BTW. I'm glad i'm not the only one on the planet that DOES fall out of Vtec on course.!! What a bunch of idiots.

 

I didn't drink much this weekend. Had 50+ bottles of BL during the week though.

lol yeah, I've dropped out of vtec on every road course I've been on.. sure I'm not the fastest driver out there, but not the slowest either..

BTW, I will be dynoing my B16A (2000 Si) with ARC intake chamber and induction box on 12/1; my motor is stock except for I/H/E

 

The ARC tube and the OEM box? I dunno...

The ARC tube in theory is supposed to produce higher intake velocity. Does it? I dunno...

I have a friend who just got the ARC box however and I'd have to say that it is of very high quality as compared to all the other intakes I've owned or seen. It's not on yet but when he installs it I'm sure his engine will benefit from alot more air, "it's highly tuned."

The ARC is a good design for hot cam setups from what I've seen, like the Toda B's that need more Air and alot of it.

When you really find out what that intake pipe does then find out why the Hell it is So expensive, then let me know about it all.

haha Yeah I never said Am or PM , Shane I would have loved to go on the Dyno, But The car still needs Mucho Tuning Although I Have a much better starting point after this weekend

Its not the Honda Challenge, but hell!!! About 80% of the people doing the challenge next year will be at this speedtrial event.

Yes, it's entirely true.

September dyno trip = 184.7 whp
November dyno trip = 169.3 whp (with ARC elbow)

I'll post the sheets upon returning home today

I do want to say thanks to David (FAST4DR) for bringing the elbow/filter to NC to test

DV- who will also thank Dave again when his seats arrive
