which intake are people using? stock air box w/ spoon filter?
Hey I was wondering what intake setup people are using? I was lookin into the stock air box with the spoon filter? Anyone currently use that? Can the Spoon filter be cleaned or do you have to buy a new one later?... Post pics to if you can.

I guess tha'ts cool if you want to do that JDM thing, but i won't net you much ponies. I'm rocking a Short Ram intake 3'' pipe with an HKS foam filter. HOttttttt shiiiiiiiiittttttttttt. It's cheap and very effective. I have some dryer tube aimed at it fo much fresh air. THose filters are re-washable.
Good luck hookin' yur car up.

If you going all engine...then AEM is a good choice. If you doing supercharging...short ram fo sho. Most intakes will give you the same amount of performance, its a personaly preference. I had an AEM CAI on my 2000 SI, worked nicely.

j's racing is good. personally i'd go w/ the aem just for the simple fact of the look. i hate the j's racing pipe.. looks as tho its either a slug or some sort of peice of plastic that got melted around something and formed over your intake. but the hks is a good way to go as well you get slightly diff. sounds w/ a cone filter and a dome one as well (more of a wistle w/ a dome). also they are easy to clean = dome. however as a simple suggestion take what money you have in your pocket and look on here for a good buy.

did you dyno before and after? From everything I've read the HKS filters are pretty crappy with making power and so are short-ram (Hot Air) intakes . . . . .

I've never been a big fan of foam filters.
I'd go with a K&N.
Unless you're into that JDM bling crap.

If you want the OEM look, why not just use a K&N panel filter? Cheaper than the Spoon, and washable, readily available everywhere.

I'm all for keeping your car looking clean/sleeper/oem or whatever, but I'm not so sure I would want to give up performance for a look. With all the dyno's I've seen here that show what the J's intake can do, if I already had one I would keep it.
