ive had them in my stock headlight housings for a long time now, no problems, i think your just being paranoid... lol. I dunno, why would they run any hotter than stock bulbs, i forget the wattage, but i thought it was pretty low.

I think they're great. I did the 9005 conversion and I am more than pleased with how they light up the road much better. I have no probs with them blowing out so far....did the conversion about 3 months ago.

Just make sure not to touch the bulb when you install, A lot of people do that. Oil from the skin breaks them. My Sylvanias have lasted a while so far.. expensive though for a bulb not much brigher than OEM.

Ive had mine for a long time, no blow outs, my apc ones before blew out, and i never touched either of them with my finger, i think thats why you other guys blew em. But yeah, my buddy also had the cool blues, and there isnt tooo much of a difference. But there definatly is, we compared.

The Silverstars were a major dissapointment for me. They were hardly brighter then my oem bulbs, and burned out after 4months. not to bad compared 2 cheap made in china bulbs for $12, but at $40 dollars for the pair, it was an expensive loss. Do yourself a favor and save money for some nice piaa bulbs and upgraded wire harness made for the higher wattage bulbs. My piaa's have been in my rex for over a year now and the only thing brighter then the piaa's are hid kits... should have saved money for the hid! at $100 for the piaa's and the harness, the piaa's might sound expensive but consider the fact that cheap bulbs could cost 20 a pop and you could be replacing them every month! just my 2 cents.
