9005 Conversion...
I know people have done this, does it really make a big difference. Is the fillament of the 9005 bulb in the middle? The reason i ask that is because dual fillament bulbs have the high beam physically higher than the low, and i do not want to be flaggin down airplanes. Also no problem with fried wire harnesses?
Thanks once again guys...

for the $50 I spent it wasn't a bad conversion... there is a bit more light and one of my bulbs blew out so instead of getting another 9006 to replace it I did the conversion and noticed a decent difference in light output... i think its like 1000 lumens vs 1700 or something w/ the 9005's... also you won't be blinding other people or flagging down airplanes assuming your headlights are aimed properly
and i'm assuming from your username that you have a '01 Teg which means its projector. I think....inside the projector housing theres something that covers the top portion of the circle (kind of reminds me of an eyelid) and this is why there's like a sharp cut off point when our lights are shining, like when the lights shine on a wall or something, its just a line for the top. and this way it doesn't blind people. someone correct me if i'm wrong.

I have been using 9005's in my low beams since summer of 2001, zero problems. 9005 and 9006 is physically exactly the same (other than the 9005 drawing 60W vs. 51W for the 9006), and of course the slight difference in the socket. When used in the high beams, the actual housing and reflector aims the light out farther and higher. You will not blind anyone if the projectors are aimed like the should be.
How exactly do you do a 9005 conversion? I need brighter headlights cuz my eyez are failin me at nighttime, hehe... and i want pure white so silverstars sound good to me...
you basically grind/snip/cut whatever off the 2 indentation/prongs... (check out the link above)...
if your eyes are failing you maybe its time to get glasses, contacts or Lasik surgery... brighter headlights might AID the problem.. but its not safe to drive w/ bad eyes/bad night vision.. if your eyes aren't good get that fixed... not to mention possibly endangering other drivers.. I'm sure you didn't want to hear that.. but well yeah.. theres other ppl on the road...

oh... kim hee sun... well, im getting glasses cuz i need them soon. It was a part joke, im a good enough driver to know that im not reckless and stuff like that. Out of all my friends, im the only one not to get a ticket so far. besides exhaust and lowered car tickets. Whats a good SoCali acura dealer? just moved from co so need to know one nearby.
yeah I didn't mean to be harsh or anything.. but just that u said ur vision was bad.. so I was just sayin that getting brighter lights wasn't a solution.. anyways..
depends what are you live in... the dealer I bought my car from (Star Acura in Glendale) closed a few yrs ago.. its like a ford or chevy dealer now... so I have to go all the way to Pasadena (Acura of Pasadena.. its on Colorado.. not sure the exact address/street number) or Torrance (Cramer Acura...)...
well tell us what area your from and maybe someone can give you a closer dealer...

i just did this with silverstars, what a difference over stocks. I had one of each in and the silverstar was alot whiter and brighter. For those interested, the lights are white, no blueish tint once so ever.
