Default What kind of E.T.'s can I expect with a Drag kit?

What kind of of E.T.'s can I expect with a Drag kit on my LS with the stock psi level? And how much boost would I have to be running to hit mid to low 13's?

JBsadler, ran at 8 psi at 3500 above sea level, and he got 13.7ish....
I would expect him to break 12's with slick...
newsense got 12.9 on slicks on 8 psi, I believe..

Mark C. also has a GS-R. I'm not sure what a 92 LS would run. I've ran my '00 GS-R with stock Michelins, stock (slippin' ) clutch, and full interior and at 6psi, my best was 13.518 @ 104.31 mph.

you can run high 13's in a ls with a decent kit and 8psi on street tires.

I hate to disagree with Jinx on this one. On 8 - 9 psi you should be able to hit 12.7 - 12.9 at around 108 - 110 depending on slicks, driver, fuel, etc. But basically a properly set up drag III LS should be hittin 12s no problem. I am not saying that every LS will do this time but very close.

I just ordered my drag III kit with the quaiffe, skunk II coilovers and clutchnet stage 3 for a 91 Crx with a 91 ls motor and I was wondering what you guys would expect out of a car like this with stock boost levels and slicks? What times would you expect with a the boost turned up to the limit with nothing but the drag kit and its fuel management? thanks

he was talking about on slicks i think. Which in that case quite a few LS's have run 12's with 10psi or less.

no reason to disagree.....i said on street tires you would run high 13's. as far as high 12's on slicks, i would agree. you might need a little more than 8psi however. any ls running 12.80's on slicks at 8psi is probably running alittle lean/unsafe for my blood.

what would a drag3 equipped eg6 w/b16a2 full interior, street tyres(195/50-15), j&s safegaurd with dual monitor, thermal 3 inch, tial wastegate, 330 injectors, and clutchnet stage2 with lightened flywheel.

also, does it sound like i would be spending my money wisely

how would anyone do it differently if they had around $6000 maybee a bit more but with plans to spend more in the future.

i am particularly interested in a response from jinxproof99. i want your quarter mile times.

i would guess that with pump gas, stock block, and no head gasket, your going to be able to push about 9psi??? you won't have any torque, i would guess somewhere in the 13's. depends on your skills and the tuning. you could run low 13's with the right tire, tuning, and launch. you could add race fuel and a inline pro head gasket, keep everything else and run around 15psi. i'm not a big fan of the j&s or the b16 motor, but you get what you can get i guess. you should push 225-240 to the wheels. maybe more if you wanna push it. in a eg6, with that hsp, low 13's should be easy.

anyone else have any experience here??????

Probably low 10's if you go with a DC Sports *polished* exhaust, header, and cold air pipe. Now, a B16A3 would probably hit 9's, and so on and so forth.

how would you change the kit i sugested. if i wanted to go 1.8 would i need a full b18c, just the bottom end, or any 1.8 bottom end?

how much is an inline pro head gasket?

what would you use instead of a j&s?

thanx for the time - sorry for jumping in on someone elses post

what counts as race gas? - i can get 98 octane from the pump here

My setup is pretty close to a drag kit. (The turbo is similar to a drag II). I just added more fuel mods: bigger injectors, vafc, fuel pump.

Ran on street tires this past Friday (Nov. 16) at 8psi on pump gas.
Ran a 13.4@108. This was on 17" TE37. (2.2 60 ft)
However, broke axels on the last pass (broken bearings or joints, don't know yet, did not take it out). This was the first time I broke an axel.
Had the swap for 4 years (NA on slicks for 3 years, Turbo on slicks for a year), Ive been pretty lucky. Second time running on street tires at the track and axel(s) broke.
Still drove home, but the steering shook whenever I stepped on the gas.

you could either sell the whole b16 and get a gsr or keep your b16 head and buy a cheap ls block and go with the ls/vtec. (that would be cheaper, but maybe not as reliable in the long run).

inline pro headgasket is $299 - call 703-644-1788

i run a 12:1 fmu, 440's, afc......thats it, no j&s.

race gas should be considered for high boost......i buy 116 octane. if you run 8 lbs of boost on the street safely, you could add that 98 octane and maybe push 9 or 10 lbs safely....go to a dyno and find out.

With a drag 3 kit at 9psi i was able to run a 13.1 on streets and a 12.4 on slicks
12.0 at 12psi
