Default Tie rod bolt, which way ?

Do you turn it like a normal bolt or are you turning it the opposite way because its actually threading onto the inner tie rod to loosen ? So lets make it easy, if I'm using a ratchet do I set it to reverse or tighten ?

are you talking about the actual outer tie rod (female) that screws onto the inner tie rod (male)?

if so, i believe that counter-clockwise=loosen / clockwise=tighten.

or are you talking about the nut that is threaded onto the inner tie rod?

if so, i believe that counter-clockwise=towards you / clockwise=away from you.

or am i just misunderstanding what the hell your talking about?
yeah...i think thats it

good luck

i dont understand what exactly what your trying to do?
your trying to align the front end by yourself?
you have to remove the nut that holds the tie rod to the knuckle and once thats loose its common sense on which way is tighten and which is loosen..after you figure that out just put the nut back on to hold it in place and check for straightness and if its all good tighten everything back up and then align your steering wheel. . (the car might turn a little further one way if not profesionally aligned)

i dont know what else to say. your not being real clear on what your doing/trying to do.

So which way does the nut turn, I have crows feet that I'm gonna stick on there so should I set the ratchet to loosen it or tighten it onto the stud ?
