If I use the ITR crank with ITR pistons and rods, I will improve my r/s ratio but lose the LS torque. But what about the compression? will it be close to stock ITR compression?

Should work just fine. I use to have an LS Pressure plate in my ITR.

what about the ITR oil cooler and oil breather? Can those be installed on the LS with little to no modification?

stock ITR oil coooler may require a hole to be drilled into the LS block to route one of those hoses... for coolant?

owen, there is no need to drill a hole in the back of the block to use the oil cooler, but you will need to swap out the ITR/GSR coolant neck on the back of the block for the ls one. ITR clutch and pressure plate will work on an LS block, just no ITR cluch with an LS flywheel or vice versa. ITR oil pump and water pump will work as long as you use a Vtec timing belt.

With an LS block with the ITR crank and rods with stock pistons you will only have a 9.3 CR. You will maintain the revabilty of an ITR but i doubt it will be as reliable, it will not have the oil squirters. I would swap on the ITR girdle, windage tray, pick up, and oil pan. Personally, id swap all the itr stuff into a bare ls block with some b16 pistons or ctr pistons..

b16 pistons in ls block with ITR head : CR = 11.11:1

b16b pistons in ls block with itr head : CR = 11.75:1

goodluck with the exp0
