Info: Tein HA
I came across a set of these coilovers, and I wanted some specs for these. I read through the achieves and found that they are above the flex, and different then the SS, and also 16 way adjustable shocks. I know they are old school and not avaliable anymore, but I'd like a little more info, such as spring rates. I haven't been able to find spring rates anywhere. thanks
The FLEX was the replacement to the HA in the US. The HA spring rates are stiffer then the FLEX, but the FLEX have a dual tube design so you can lower the car without compressing the shock, plus the FLEX come wiht a pillowball upper mount the HA does not come wiht it unless you order it with it.
thanks guys, I guess the HA were not what I was looking for. I was looking into something that can run higher spring rates. You said the standard spring rate right? Is it optional to change the spring rate from tein? I was wondering because I read on a page where it said that the rates varied up to 12k. How abouts do you go find what spring rate they are, are the stamped on the spring? I don't know, because I have been eyeing a set, but it is really no use for me if the rates are in the same group as the flex line.
u can order or swap whatever springs you want on almost any set of tein coils...
if the HA's spring rates were 8/6 that is actually the same as the SS line.. the FLEX line come with 9/4 not sure why such the huge difference.

The HA can easily support higher spring rates. The 8/6 configuration was the standard setup and optimized for dampening setting 6 in front and 10 in rear.
For higher spring rates, you can increase the dampening setting to: say 2 in front and 6 in rear. (higher or lower)
The fact that the dampening is adjustable, it gives you the freedom to go with higher spring rates.
My set is for sale ...it has ~10k miles on them in mint shape. all for $500 bux

I am running 10/8 on mine. I emailed Tein about running higher rates and they told me that the dampers can handle +/- 2k, so I just ordered a set of 10k front springs and swapped the 8s to the back.
They said any more than +2k, would require shock rebuild (which they will do also).
And yes, the rate is stamped on the spring, I cant remember exactly what the code is but its a number ending in "06, 08, 10" etc.

I run 10 front 14 rear on a DC2 with HA's.This is a track only car.
The shocks have no problem handling these rates, mind you my mielage on the car is pretty minimal<1000 miles /year.
Running high rates like the above for street use will probably give you issues with the shocks after an extended period.
Plus the ride will be nasty harsh

thanks for all the replys guys, I'm going to go have a look at them on monday, see what condition they are in and what spring rates they have on them. I was looking for a set with 12k front 10k rear, however, I might just do what jetydosa did and go 10K/8K. I'll go take a look, because they might be rusted out, or just plain blown. again thanks for the help guys.
