i have a 92 eg si with a 96 jdm type r motor in it and it wont go into gear when its idling but it will when its off.
Anyone know what the problem could be?

maybe ur clutch went to heaven.?....

if u put it in gear with the car off, then turn the car on. does it jerk big time or what?

That's very likely. Check to see if your clutch is disengaging when you press down on your clutch pedal.

 

yeah it jerks alot when i put it in first and start it

yeah, ur clutch went bye bye. time for a new one. getta act or something.

 

It could also be your clutch mechanism.

The C5 has a hydro clutch right? Check your clutch resevoir.
