Default 1st swap: B18b into an EG

I just dropped a b18b into my 93 civic dx, but noticed a good 4 inch gap between the header and the cat. Has anyone else run into this problem or is this my f--- up? Of course, I don't plan to use the stock dx exhaust, but I'd like to know if there are any manufacturers that make special "hybrid" exhausts, or should I just get one designed for the ole' d15.
