F22 to H22. $3000 price qoute. any good?
Im a newbie.
I have been saving to do a h22a swap for sometime now.
I have some basic questions...
I currently have a 1995 Prelude S with a F22a. (Runs great/strong)
I was told by a shop in sanjose it would cost me about $3000
for the motor, tranny, labor and taxes. It would take about two days
at the most. I was told this by http://www.blacktrax.net
While im at it, I was wondering what else should I do?
Exhaust? Intake? VAFC? fuel pump reg, etc...
I heard from H-T topics that the f22 to h22 swap is the easist around.
what other hidden costs should I be ready for?
THANKS

that seems reasonable for a drop it off/pick it up solution.
a full swap will run atleast $2k in parts...so i couldn't see a shop doing it for less than $2500

I'd go honda with the t-belt, water pump, and cv boots, I'm not sure about any kind of oil pump upgrade though.
And the clutch, I dont know how much you wanted to spend, but I have a clutchmasters stage 3 clutch(segmented kevlar with sprung hub) and their billet aluminum flywheel. all in all this setup was about $900 shipped to my door.
The clutch is rated at about 120% stronger than stock. The pedal is a little firmer and the clutc is a little tougher to slip, but it is not at all too much for a mostly stock eng or daily driver, and clutchmasters recommends this setup for street/strip cars to about 350-375 horsepower.
My car is 95 vtec and I have only bolt-ons+ecu and I would recommend this clutch setup to anyone

If you wanna go a little cheaper I got the ACT prolite and HDSS for 700 and I love them, I think the HDSS is good for like 288 pounds of torque if you plan on doing heavy modding
