Use search, BaileyCivic wrote a whole article explaining everything for the mini-me conversion. It covers the timing belt and ****. Let me know if that doesn't help!

Search: "Mini-me"

I searched and found your answer. You need the Z6 timing belt...

Yeah, no problem.

It makes sense, the head changes the location of the cam gear, the block stays the same, therefore the timing belt would need to match the head.

I thought the Z6 and Y8 belts were the same?

How many teeth are on the Y8? I assumed they were the same also.

VX 103
D6 104
DX 106

This is what I thought

No i'm just wondering why the Y8 belt didn't work and the Z6 did work.

the z6 and y8 have the same number of teeth, but the y8 is about a 1/4 inch longer than the z6. therefore it will have more slack. unless you forgot to reset the tensioner when you put it on, which will cause slack either way.
