rattling?
sometimes when im driving i notice a rattling sound that seems to be coming from the catylic converter. someone told me its because the cat has small round pieces of metal and they can come loose and rattle. is this true? if not wht could be causing the rattling?
i think it might be the skeletol remains of a mouse in my oil pan......
honda sold some sort of "rattle kit" for a while, but it wasnt a recall.....just get down there and tighten and clean up if it botheres you that much

it doesnt really sound like the heat shield rattle though its not just at a certain rpm its more like i hear it with most weight shifting but i tend not to hear it as i drive more its like when the car warms up it goes away but thats not always true. it sounds like little ball bearings or something rattling around in the back and it doesnt alwasy happen when i hit a bump so i dont think its a piece like the plate bumping the trunk or something

Well like everyone says... it's definitely the heat shield... I just took mine off... but it's there for a reason.. so if you can tighten it it'll be better. I took it off with a help of a friend at a shop which have lifts... if you don't do it on a lift.. it's almost impossible to take off.
