Default car trouble... starts then dies.... please help.

Ok, this is actually in regards to my sisters car, but when u try to start it for the first time in the morning or after a long duration of being off, it will start, but the rpms aren't steady, then the rpm drops n dies.

I'm tryin to figure out wat it is... i'm suspecting the battery.... wat do you, my esteemed peers think? I plan on takin it to kragens in the morning to test the battery out.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by pdcdragon &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">... i'm suspecting the battery...</TD></TR></TABLE>No. A bad battery would not start it in the first place.

Clean (replace?) the IAC valve, & the FIT vavle. Then there's a proper way to adjust the idle... Unplug the IACV & set your base idle, which is something like 450. Depends on what model & year, I guess.
