Back when I had one, I just layed the CF tail gate on a blanket on the ground, opened the stock hatch, took off the plastic panel, and started transferring parts over one by one to the CF one, slightly bolting them on (finger tight). Starting with the metal bars that release the tail gate, I disconnected those, removed the latches on the side, and pulled the bars out, then the lock mechanism, then the tail lights and pulled the harness through the hole, then bolted the new tail gate to the car and and tightened everything up, also aligned/adjusted it so it closed completely.

I replaced a hood from a camry and thats all I did, all the tabs, hood latch, etc... and then just put the new one on.

Why do some people have to be ******** when a question is asked? I just don't get it. If you don't have anything worthwhile to contribute to the thread, then just don't respond, but if you must, at least use the spell checker so you don't look like a complete dousche bag. Have a nice day

When you pop open the hatch it looks confusing. All you need to do is keep track of how everything is laid out and what goes where. Once you get started it really isn't that bad. I did it on my first car by myself(I had no idea what I was doing). My only problem was keeping track of where everything went. You'll be fine, just jump in.

I have never had one but he sounds like he knows what he is talking about "Back when I had one, I just layed the CF tail gate on a blanket on the ground, opened the stock hatch, took off the plastic panel, and started transferring parts over one by one to the CF one, slightly bolting them on (finger tight). Starting with the metal bars that release the tail gate, I disconnected those, removed the latches on the side, and pulled the bars out, then the lock mechanism, then the tail lights and pulled the harness through the hole, then bolted the new tail gate to the car and and tightened everything up, also aligned/adjusted it so it closed completely." I would have to agree with him. Good luck with the hatch, post some pics when you figure it out.

You will have to modify the metal arms that move the hatch/wiper mechanism and also add washers to the hatch/wiper mechanism. You will need longer screws for the locks on the side. Lastly, you will need to do lots of drilling and possible make holes for the license plate. Was not direct bolt on like I expected but well worth it.
