No room for a filter, what do you guys do?
I dont have room for a filter right now due to my stock radiator fan is in the way. I will purchasing a slim fan asap but until then is there anything I can do? Something I can put over the inlet that won't melt under high heat? What do you guys usually do?
high heat? i'de call it warm. If it got hot why would many turbos have rubber vac lines coming off the compressor cover and rubber hoses feeding the inlet?
regardless, you might be able to mount the stock fan in front and reverse the rotation or just get the slim fan and fix it once.

Aloty of people run the screen mesh, basically you just cut it out, and clamp it on with a worm clamp. You can get the mesh stuff at a local hardware store or Home Depot.
Somethign I did when my K&n filter ripped, I cut out a section of the filter part sandwiched it inbetween two mesh screens and clamped it on. This was a temporary fix until I got a new filter.

You can use a piece of screen with a hose clamp. Definitely dont run with it open. One little pebble will completely ruin your compressor blade.

Thats the problem. There isn't even room for pipe right now because of the radiator fan housing. Ill try the mesh idea until I can get the slim fan.

A screen or pantyhose over the turbo inlet is much more restrictive than a filter.
Why? A screen will block a large portion of the turbocharger inlet. Even more when you consider how air moves around such a screen.
But a filter has to be more restrictive, right?! I mean, you can't even see through it!
Aah, but a filter will have more square area to it than a screen that goes over your 2" to 4" compressor inlet, doesn't it? The larger area means that the air moves slower when it is in the filter, so the filter will provide less of a restriction.

I have a t25, with the compresser on the radiator side like yours, and I had to cut my fan srowding down a lot with a dremel and also the fan blades. I got a 90* bend hose from Home depot, then made another 90* bend with metal and put my AEM fliter on it.

I have an idea that might work for you. I was having the same problem with my integra. I simply removed the rad fan, cut 4 pieces of metal drilled a hole at each end in the same spot for all four. I used these pieces to move the fan towards the passenger side. I would say I moved it about 3/4 of an inch. It works great, I never overheat and it saved me from buying a slimfan.
