When i first got into the import scene, i got a greddy turbo kit for my civic. It was the stock D16y8 motor, and no fuel or ignition upgrades, just what came with the greddy kit. That set up lasted me from 1997 to 2000, then i got a boost controller and blew the motor.. haha..

Had my turbo for 3 months. The first 2.75 months, I ran it on 6.5psi, no problems, kinda quick. (t3/t4, b18c1, but stock cat). Got a boost controller, turned up the boost and blew that **** up within 2 weeks. haha

1.5 months with no sign of engine problems ::knocks on wood:: 53K miles on the motor, maybe 1 thou with the turbo... i dont have a boost controller. Just using an 8 psi spring for my wastegate so theres no chance in me turning up the boost as of now..and i had my hondata tuned very well... no detonation or anything .. so i guess im pretty lucky right now. It doesnt matter anyway because im buying forged pistons and rods later this summer/fall and doing a rebuild on the motor so i can handle around 270 whp with no problems.

8 months now. GSR 10psi drive the hell out of it every day. Weekend racer.
Get a hondata for engine management. Do not think about going any other route. This is the most important part of the setup, you cheap out on that and your gonna pay big time later on (blown motor)

b20 turbo since september 9 psi on hondata still runs good. hondata is the way to go. i started out with the afc hack and then when to hondata huge differance. hondata makes the car run so clean.
