Default TEIN TYPE RA and RE SUSPENSION

i did a search to see if anyone had anything to say about the RA and RE TEIN coils...but i only found info on the flex, which i think suck

anyone have the Type RA or RE in their car?
anyone heard anything about either? good? bad?
streetable?

i know the rates are 14/10, i already looked them up some on Tein's site

but any additional info would rock

thanks

From now on...
Everytime I see a new post my first question is going to be.

"Are you paid up for the ITR Expo?"

So are you???

I've got tein coils on my ride but i'm not sure if the're RA or RE cos they were installed in japan by the previous owner. it depends what your roads r like? most of our roads are ****, but when a nice flat road comes up they handle flawlessly so i would suggest them to any R owner

They're streetable, but they pound your *** like a 300lb gay guy on bad roads.

I've used spring combos of 14kF/10kR, 14kF/16kR, 10kF/12kR. The 16k springs in the back is really tough. I thought it was riding on the bump stops in the back it was so hard, but it wasn't. It's like driving a log.

im not attending the expo

so from everyones experience..which is better the RE or the RA?

the RE are a tad more pricy, but looks like they both have their advantages, not quite sure which is better

ill be autoxing and daily driver, even in the winter months here in new england

There the same thing, the RE the ride height is adjustable without changing the preload of spring.

Why not stay with stock for what you want to do?

I do like mine so far (havnt corner weighted them yet), but they can be a tad harsh for daily driving. However my car isnt really a daily driver.

I have the a Tein RS and have drove through NYC with them at medium setting and it was deadly. On the low setting it is streetable. I am using front 12 rear 14.

I have been using Tein RA on my ITR since 99'. Spring rate is 16k front and 12k rear. If you adjust the shocks to its softest, I think it's still quite streetable. However, I did have one leaking shock last year and I had to end up buying a new one cuz it passed the 1 yr warranty period. Do you want something for street or track? If for street, I am using the HKS Hypermax Performer on my STI and it's really good.

Since you'll be autocrossing, you'll probably want to keep the 10K springs @ the back. One way to soften the ride is to lower your tire pressures (unless your're running low profiles that it wouldn't even matter). I have RSs and have set them @ 14 for both rebound and compression and have my tire pressures (205/50/15) @ 25 and the ride is not that far from my old setup with 250lbs spring rates in the Rear.

I been using the RE?s on my EK for about 6 months and its not all that bad for street use. Some guy from tein told me that I can bend my chasse over time if I use the Re?s every day on the street, is that true?
