im about to buy some tein ss colivers. and was wondering how many people have used them and liked them and more importantly how durable are they? anyone have any prolems with them not lasting that long?
i've searched and am pretty sure that i will go with the teins. i was just curious if any of you would like to share your experiences.

I have them and I really like them. by themselves theyre nice but with other suspension mods like lower-tie, upper strut, etc. they handle really nice. I don't have much if any bodyroll, and the ride stiffness can be varied greatly. I havent ran into any problems with mine yet and ive had them for about 7 months, so overall I give them a

I got the Basic's on my 2001, there is no gap and the ride is awsome. get the ss the adjustable dampers will be worth it

I already searched and found some great info on the teins (thanks Honda-Tech members). But I wanted to grab some users opinions and experiences. Not just tech info. I wanted some durability info which I have yet to find fully addressed.

I have the Tein RE, and they are the best coilover I've ever ridden on. They are so stiff. And there is no body roll at all. I have no bars at all. They are a little bouncy, but they handle so well.

Unless you get the TEIN flex's, or maybe some other higher end TEIN's, you will probably run into a rust problem. Also, its a good idea to maintain your coilovers by just covering them with WD40 every time you get an oil change. I did, never had any rattles, or squeeks. My SS's were showing a little rust when I sold them though.

You wont be dissapointed w/ the tein ss. unless you autox. they do great for street driving. i bought them before i knew what an autox was, and now i wish i had higher rates in the rear.

i have them and i love them! they are not very stiff if thats what your going for however i think they are perfect for street use and the weekend autoxer

wow...lots of good review on them....i'm planning to get a set for my self. im also wondering how long do they last...cause i did read some where that teh valves on the shock is weak... but i'm not sure what that is...can someone explain if you know what your talkin about?

the valves in a shock are inside the shock body. i think. i know i will need to get them revalved, to accept higher spring rates in the rear. but thats about all i know. sort of

bump....anyone else with info on that?

that is the type of info im looking for. has anyone needed to revalve the shocks unexpectedly early?
how do you guys (who bought the ss's or other teins) feel about the difference in price between the teins and say gc and konis (after all I have read many great reviews about the combo). do you feel it was well worth it versus saving the scrill and buying another mod for your car with the difference?

I have them on my car for about 1/2 a year. It squeaks when I go over speed bump, but other than that, I'm very happy w/ it. It rides very smooth, not bouncy at all. I only have stock suspension before this, so I can't give you any good comparison. But it rides much stiffer w/out being bouncy. Like may said, good street and weekend autoX suspension.

I have a set off SS which i've had on for about two months, and they are great. Even on setting 1 all around, you can feel a noticeable difference, and on setting 16 all around, it is extremely stiff, yet easily driveable.

i'm just worried about the weak valve that i hear about....any more info on that?

i have them on my 96 ls and love em to death. also helping out the suspwnsion ive got tanabe front and rear/ upper and lower tie/strut bars. this car carves. any know where to get a deal on edfc's

From what I understand, the valve problem is a result of lowering the car past the manufacturers recommendation for the specified spring rate of the standard SS kit. Also, doesn't TEIN have a good warrenty?
As for the durability of the kit, if you keep it clean, don't slam it passed the rec. specs (mine is a bit too low right now ), it should be fine or just as good as anything in it's price range. Prostreetonline had them for $826 shipped for the DC, but I think they had to raise their advertised price due to TEIN regs.

well..what's pass the spec?...or what is the specs.

I have TEIN SS installed on my 99 LS and it rides nice. I have the damper on stiff right now (4 front and 6 back). Good investment

4 and 6?...done they have 16 setting..ur more on the soft side...

I bought them about 2yrs ago. Still running fine.
Driving: Light driving, nothing aggressive. Only now and again.
Condition: Still good, no rust, but of course I checkem every oil change to make sure.
I still like the SS for the price. Great for street driving which is what it is meant for. I did auto x once or twice and the performance was satisfactory. This is when I should have gotten better ones with higher rates. Which this brings me to the question of Koni + GC combo. Very Very good setup. I personally would go with this because of custom spring rates w/your koni shocks. At the softest setting Koni is not as driver friendly. But...livable.

So, I say go with what you plan to do with the setup. If you autox, DD, or hardcore racing on the track. But, from my personal experience the SS are very nice. Plus I've had them for 2 yrs and no problems so far. But, that is just me! Good Luck on the decision.
