Default Brake Pins Seized - Need help fast - Braking integrity has gone downhill!

The two pins that are supposed to go in and out no longer do so, and as a result, my brake pads do not make contact with the rotor.

My question is:

If i were to go to a wrecker tomorrow and rip one out, are there any older cars with this same part that I could use?

just clean them, take the boot off, if there's some rust just lightly sand it off (hand) with a high grit and make sure there's no debree in the hole. I had the same problem when i was working on a 99 teg. regrease them when you done

I soaked it in penetrating liquid and tried to ease the springs back. I took the boot and cleaned underneath. I even tried to twist and turn it into place with vicegrips. It won't even budge.

....I got frustrated and took a sledge hammer to it and they would not budge. These things are NOT moving, and i'd rather just replace it.

I'm trying to understand what's goin on here. Did the pins come out? If so you can polish the pins up (so they look brassy again), grease them, and put them back in. Just check to see if the pins are pitted. If they don't go back in than there probably isn't anything wrong with the pins, you would need new brackets.

They are frozen - they will neither move forward nor backwards. Nothing is wrong with the pins, its the entire bracket that is seized.

This happened to me before when I was changing out my rotors. The only way to unseized that bolt is to torch it. It is stuck because there is dirt, grime, etc. that is preventing the bolt to slide in and out. Torching it will loosen the dirt, grime, etc. After you torch it, it will come out. Make sure you grese it up before inserting it back in. I forgot which grease I used, though, but Im sure any auto part store would know which grease should be used. Hope this helped.

Thank you for your responses, but I want to know where I can get another part. This part is no longer useable. And preferably from an older model (civic?) so I don't have to pay dealership prices.

Wrecking yard, I'm not sure you can buy just the slider bolts. Probably sell it bracket and all. Either way will be WAY better than dealer price.

Yea, just get one in good shape from the junkyard.

I torched mine, then whacked them with a hammer to knock them out. Then I used a dremmel with a long, slender bit to hone out all the **** from the bracket (and there was a LOT!).

Then I used the sanding wheel to make the pins look shiny again. I know I took off a little material, but not enough to be detrimental to performance. I just used extra grease.

Trust me, don't get new brackets, just use a little elbow grease.

Done the same here....they seem impossible to get out, but with enough tools and enough force, you can make it happen.

As for other cars using the same bracket, Im not 100% sure about other models, but any 94-01 Integra will work.

k, i think this is pissing me off just as much as it is "Weapon R."

the man simply wants to know what parts are interchangable from his integra of an older model, probably because there aren't many 94+ integras available at wrecking yards.

Haha thanks homie...its true guys, both me and a friend worked our asses off to try and budge this thing to no effect. I soaked it for a day in penetrating fluid. We put it in a clamp and tried to wiggle out the pins with vicegrips. We aren't some 100lb wimps either :D. We hit it with a sledgehammer to try and force the pins out, but no luck. My best estimate is that it's been rusted and sealed for years to hold that hard.

It's no longer about repairing if I don't have to, since it's going to cost me more to buy a torch and sandpaper, and a lot more time, than just going to rip one out of a junkyard (only 2 bolts = 5 min job).

Boo ******* hoo. We gave him our advice. We all sat with our pins going "its impossible to get this out" and we got them out. Thats what all 10 of us are telling him.

Maybe no one knows for sure if the bracket is interchangeable...you apparently dont know either since you only bothered to post your discontent about other people, ironically, not posting an answer to his question.

-Nick, who hates to see this bullshit as much as people whining about negative comments when they post up a "give me your opinion" post.

My advice? If you just want to know if the part is interchangeable, post in the civic and integra forums "is this part interchangeable." Otherwise, you may get people trying to offer a solution to your problem, which, apparently, isnt desired.
