Ron(Sixtydashone) will be using this exact manifold on his upcoming 10 second buildup.
Wastegate goes where the yellow circle is on the collector.
Performance should be similar if not BETTER than some of my other manifolds, mainly because of less runner length, which means less heat-loss.
AC versions are soon to follow, for B and D series engines right now(H possibly to come).

I hope to replace the SST with this. If it performs like I think it will, only the blingers will want the SST. Everyone else should want this, especially w/AC.

Its pretty much out, turbo location is done(same as AC SST), just have to weld it together. I created this thread to gather interest so that people know what the manifold is when its spoken of around the forums.

Oh yes, for the AC, you will have to go half radiator, and move the AC condenser for the turbo to swing out. This was designed to fit a t4/60-1 with AC and a 3" DP w/Vband.

What are some of the benefits of this, aside from the heat issue. What effect does runner length have?

The runners are co-joined in function with the collector.
The SST for example:

there is a VERY pronounced and long collector, and then very pronounced, and long runners. The long collector is great for smoothing out exhaust pulses, etc. But, there is a downside; the length of all the runners bleeds off a lot of heat. Although the thicker material helps, you will still lose heat through the runners.
With this manifold:

there is a combination of both. Thick tubing, short runners, and a "mini" merge collector. They all should work together to provide similar, if not BETTER power characteristics than most tubular manifolds on the market.
Now some may bring up the equal length problem. There is a 3.5" difference in lengths between the 1&4 and 2&3 runners. The SSTs are 2.5" difference, so 1 inch difference in runner lengths between this manifold and the SST(or similar designs). That one inch would be HARD pressed(or the 3.5" for that matter) to measure in terms of spoolup/power.
Not to mention better fitment on the car, lower under-hood temps, etc etc.

This sort of applies to any of your manifolds, but what is your favorite way to deal with the areas where the weld interferes with the nuts that hold it to the head? It looks like several of the upper ones would not sit against the flange but maybe it's just the pic. I was thinking some type of bit that has a tip you could put into the mounting hole and then machine out a flat spot just the size of a manifold nut... a grinder just seems so cruel on such nice parts.
