Default Valve Adjustment and compression test results

I just completed my valve adjustment on my 97 spec JDM ITR motor. Ive had this motor for a year now and never did a valve adjustment. I searched around the board and got a ton of info on valve adjustments. Had everything I needed, except for feeler gauges. So i go to pepboys and ask where the feeler gauges are and the guy walks me into their rice land isle and shows me sunpro gauges and sez sorry sir these are the only ones we carry. I tried my hardest not to laugh, so I said no feeler guages, they are strips of metal the have different gauges (ie different thickness), you would have thought i asked him what life is all about. Well he gets his manager and same thing, he shows me the sunpro gauges. So then I asked for one of their mechanics, so they went and got one and to my surprise, he had no idea neither. So I left and went o Strauss Auto, only in there in one minute guy showed me where they were and I was on my way.

So I check all my valves before i do anything and, they were loose as hell, with cylinder 1 and 3 being way out of spec. I did a compression test before I started and this is what i got:
260 255 260 255

I set all my valves with their corresponding cylinder at TDC to intake .006 and exhaust to.007, with no room for the next size up gauge for the intake and exhaust.

Started her up and it was quite, no rough idle. Took for a spin and it felt alot better. Came back did a compression test again and got these numbers

275 275 270 275.
