Default Del Sol si w/ 00 ex swap and skunk2 mani?

someone told me that a skunk2 manifold for a civic ex motor will hit the firewall when installed in a del sol. i'm putting a 00 ex swap in my girlfriends del sol and was just wondering if anyone knew about this before i bought the manifold. any pictures or info would be great.

I've heard the same stuff about the Skunk2 IM as well. But doesn't the Edelbrock one not have firewall clearance issues?

I've also heard too many stories about having the Skunk2 intake manifold hitting the firewall, therefore I went with the Edelbrock Performer X. I can tell you firsthand that the Edelbrock doesn't have any firewall issues, check the link for pictures to see for yourself.

Here are some pics that my friend took when doing the installation of the manifold on my 1999 Civic EX: http://www.tiora.net/~civicryd...stall

Yeah, my friend and I installed the Edelbrock Performer X on my 1999 Civic EX coupe. There is no denying that the difference is in the upper rpm's, it pulls harder a little after VTEC engagement. I figured I would lose some of my low end as well, but I really didn't, the manifold is worth it.

Noticeable power. You can actually feel it pull harder on a SOHC VTEC when it engages.

Here is a dyno thread from the Performer X: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=653889

Let me tell you this, if the Skunk2 has firewall issues on a 6th gen Civic coupe, what makes you think it won't on a Del Sol? Go with the Edelbrock bish.

If the Skunk2 IM fits 92-95 civic coupes with out problems then there is no reason I can think of that it would have problems on the del sol since the engine bays are damn near identical.
