Stock crank shaft with new pisions??
I am geting JE forged pistions and Rods...9:1 for an LS (that I want to turbo 10psi) and I was wondering if I had to change the crank shaft of if I could just use the stock one?
the stock crankshaft will never be the weak point of your setup. the crank takes very little pounding compared to the rods that get the brunt of the force. rods will go 100 times before you have a problem with a bad crank
SO do you guys think that runing 8psi street and 11 psi on the track with a stock internals in a LS will be fine.....do I need a block guard of slevves?
When you have the crank out, you should have it balanced and micropolished.
Every single crank from the factory could use a good balance job, your bearings and oil pump gear will thank you

you can run as much boost as you want on a stock block assuming you have a good tuner. too much boost doesn't kill motors, detonation kills motors

Detionation is only one thing that kills motors. Cylinder pressure is another biggie (ie. NOT true that you can run as much boost as you want
).
