Default CA Ref Question: No driver side airbag, immediate failure?

I will be ref'ing my car this week and have a momo race wheel on it with no airbag. The SRS light is ON and I'm curious if this will be an immediate failure or not?

Everything else on my car is good to go..this is the final questionable issue.

Thanks

yes, you will fail. just put the stock steering wheel back on, plug the airbag in, then get it ref'd.
after that, just change it back.

We don't even test our cars in MI and it is illegal to take off an airbag. I think it's dumb but whatever. Just find a junk wheel or borrow one for the time being.

no kidding not having an airbag is illegal. i don't think its dumb at all.
face full of skull cracking metal? or face full of airbag that will temporarily hurt you?
i chose the airbag. trust me, i've been there before (passenger side though).

you guys have it all wrong. In CA, if you remove your airbag it's illegal. If your car doesn't have one like got in a accident or salvage, then it's ok. but you have to show proof.

you got me all wrong, I have my airbag and I wouldn't take it off, but if somebody wants to be dumb and not wear there seatbelt or ride a motorcycle without a helmet they should be able to. for airbags

Just to add some more personal experience: Yes, you will be immediately failed. I forgot to wire up the SRS light correctly on my GSR cluster swap so they were unable to test to see if the my airbags were working properly. The ref immediately rolled my car out of their work bay and sent me home to reschedule an appointment after I fixed my SRS.

BTW, it's also a matter of workplace safety. They want to insure that an airbag doesn't engage while they're working on your car and injure/kill a technician. Ofcourse, accidently injuring someone wouldn't apply to you since you have a Momo
