ok i have a question my buddy welded on a plate on an cx manifold and i thought that it was not good to weld on cast iron he did this because his making a custom turbo i told him to get a revhard manifold but whatever!!
how do they put vbands on exhaust sides of turbo housings? Do they staple it? Ive had my turbo manifold welded when it had a crack in it and it was a cast rev hard one.
The proper way to weld cast iron is to get it at a really hot temp
Of course this is after all surface rust is removed
I've seen the adaptor plate welded str8 onto the HF manifold w/ no probs for at least a year. I'm sure if u were ON IT all the time I doubt the mess would hold up to the extended heat.
