trans. for D16Y8 EF swap
I realize that the D16Y8 will bolt right up to the trans. on my 88 Si. However, don't the ratios of the Si hamper performance? Also, what are the chances of me being able to trade the Y8 trans. for a fresh EF Si trans. at a salvage yard? My current trans. is really really beat.
Thanks. Peace.

D-man, the only ratios that the 88 and Y8 share are 1st (3.250) and FD (4.250).
The EF has the morw desireable 4th and 5th gear.
Also anyone gonna warn him that the 88 tranny is the bastard child on the input spline count?

Appreciate the helpful info. I was actually already planning on the 89-91 trans.
By the way, I already realize that the 88 sucks a fat one. The only thing I prefer is the reg. seatbelts.
Thanks again. Peace.
