Default Liquid cooled JRSC... do i need a water tank?

Well my set up is pretty much done,, now my question is... do I really need a water tank????

in what order does the water run?

from the tank- to the pump- to the heat exchanger- to the water cooler- then back to the tank?

or can i just simply go... from the pump- to the heat exchanger- to the water cooler-bakc to the pump?

like how many liters of water do you need to make this system efficient?

thanks
Tyler

PS ill post pics later!

only if you want the IC to actually cool the charge. Not to be smart.

The more water that is in the system, the better off you are. Without a resovoir of some sort, your system will be heat soaked after the first pull. The heat exchangers arent efficient enough to just cool the water back to ambient temp with only one pass thru it.
So you rely on the resovoir capacity to help cool the heated water.

The reservoir doesn't help to cool the water, it only provides storage for more water, which will increase the thermal inertia of the system. It may take longer to heat up the water, but it will still heat up nonetheless, and take longer to cool as well. If you're not getting enough airflow to the intercooler's radiator, or that radiator is too small for the heat load, that's a different problem.

Today I tapped into the window washer fluid tank... I guess thats 4Literss? 1 gallon?

You guys think that will be ok?

and is this the right sequance? from :water tank-to pump-to head exchanger- to intercooler- back to the tank?

1 gallon wont be enough.. i suggest a bit more....also.. if you want to try something for heat exchange on the liquid side.. use alcohol
