DEFI BF EGT Guage and Sensor - Vibration affecting the sensor?
Is it at all possible for vibration to be affecting the EGT sensor?
The sensor is abou 2 inches from the head on the 3rd runner of my inline pro manifold. It reads fine during cruise or lower rpm's, but when going at full throttle, the EGT guage shows 200-400 degrees C.
At cruise around 4000-4500 (80-90 MPH), it registers between 600-700 C. Then I was driving today and noticed that the guage was dipping when a low note in my stereo hit. The only thing I could attribute this to is the vibration from the sub.
I doubt that its the electrical draw of the sub because then the guage should work fine at WOT when the stereo is off.

My gauges arnt even hooked up yet, noticing every bump i hit or vibration the car makes, the needle sometimes bounces or shakes..

you said it dips when your sub hits a low note, does it dip any other time? does it dip when the radio is off?

I just noticed that it was also dipping when the sub hit low notes.
When I turn the radio off, and do a WOT run, the EGTs drop to 200-300 degrees which is impossible. The guages are DEFI BF series so they are digital step motors. No matter the vibration of the car, they shouldnt vibrate themselves.

vibration doesnt seem to be the cause. even when you hit a bump, the sensor is still reading the ehast gas in your manifold, which wont change from hitting a bump.
is your guage new? i would either guess the actual product or something in the wirning may be at fault, not the vibration.

Ive had the guages working for about 12 months, the thing is that I just hooked up my EGT because I never got around to drilling my manifold and its been down for the past 6 months
