Default Wideband + Uberdata + o2 heater

Okay, I've got an Uberdata-chipped ecu. My car throws a o2 heater CEL, I don't know why maybe my o2 sensor is fugged.

Anyhoot, I'm looking at getting a wideband and replacing the narrowband o2 completely. (2 birds with one stone) Now if I check "O2 Heater Disable" in Uberdata, then I can ignore the wiring in the resistor in this diagram?

Anyone doing the same, no problems?

good question... bump. I'm guessing we'd "check" O2 heater disable, but like to hear for sure. Are you talking about getting the O2 signal from your wideband's narrowband output?

I think o2 disable merely means that the ecu will be running in open loop all the time, so you'll probably get really had mileage. Otherwise, you're golden!

Yes I am! Like I said: 2 birds, 1 big stone EDIT: I also don't have to weld in another o2 bung

Well, Uberdata also has "Closed Loop Disable" so I dunno...

o2 heater disable means simply that, it will disable the o2 heater. You won't get a code for it if it's disabled.

Right now I'm running without it disabled so I get the CEL...

are you going to run a narrowband simulator to your ecu?

He doesn't want to simulate narrowband. He wants to use the narrowband output of his wideband in place of the stock narrowband OS to drive the ECU.

yeah... the narrowband output of the WBO2 unit is 'simulated' because it's not a true 0-1v signal... it has to be interpolated from the raw 0-5v input from the wbo2 sensor

edit... whoops... read your comment slightly out of context, my bad.

but yes, with the o2 heater disable you do NOT have to wire the resistor as shown in the picture

apologies if this is a jack- but it might be slightly relevant. if i were to remove the narrowband o2 and install a wideband just to datalog for like 10 minutes, would i check o2 sensor disable and heater disable also?

Yes. Disabled O2 heater in Uber. PLX simulated 02-NB to the ECU. All is well.

yeah, just check the o2 heater disable box, burn the chip, and be on your way

Whats the deal with that resistor between your O2 Heater and ground wires?

Tricks the ECU into thinking that it's heating the o2 sensor, when it is infact only heating your resistor(s). Be careful with this method, the resistors will get hot and melt stuff if you're not careful.
