H22a oil pan gasket replacement
I did a seach and came up with a couple finds but they are all confusing as all hell. Honda wants like $200 to replace this and it is not worth it too me, so I will be doing it myself.
So does a 1994 H22a's have a oil pan gasket or do I just use the Hondabond?
Thank You for the help.
Mike

yes there is a oil pan gasket on the h22, you have to drop the lower bar that ties the lower frame members togther to fully drop the oil pan out, you ight not have to if you don't want to take it all the way down.

Ok that sounds alittle complicated, is it as hard as it sounds? So there is a oil pan gasket for the H22a's but not the USDM H22's?

92-96 oil pan gasket
97+ no oil pan gasket, just hondabond
If you are not famiar with how this is done, don't do it. At least buy a manual.

I have done this before on a couple other hondas, but I am alittle worried about removing the bar that holds the frame members together.
Ahhh I guess I will give it a shot.
Thanks

no there is an oil pan gasket for the h22a h22a1 and h23a1 , but the h22a4 some of them use hondabond,
i used the regualer oil pan gasket with some hondabond.
its not complicated, you put it up on the jack and take the lower support off, just 6 bolts 3 front 3 back i hink, and then take the pan down

Oh ok, I was thinking something that gave the frame strength and wasn't too sure if I would feel ok doing it. But ok that sounds alot better.
I guess Saturday is the big day, I hope it isn't too hot Saturday.

97+ h22's DO have a gasket...it is just not a complete gasket...it is a small u- shaped gasket but you will still be required to bead the rest of the edges with gray permatex or hondabond

i stand corrected, thank you,
i stand corrected, thank you,
I think it's worth mentioning also, that the flywheel dust cover has to come off also... A few bolts into the transmission and a few into the engine block, and one in the oil pan itself
