hey everyone. my girlfriend is getting a new engine for her teggy. she wants to get a good engine for turbo applications and such. also which has more HP and TQ as well as being reliable in your experience(if you have either one). thanks a lot


what engine is better lsvtec or b20vtec???

 

Correct me if I'm wrong but a B20 has no PCV(I find that a problem) but it does have a main girdle and oil squirters which is a definite plus.

when did a B20 come with a main girdle and oil squirters? you must be thinking about a DOHC V-TEC motor cause no B series non-vtec motor came with a girdle nor oil squirters.


as for what motor...a B20/LS vtec isn't a reliable choice for your girl. if i were you, i'd just get a b18c1 for your girl and call it day. that is unless she wants to work on it the by all means, go for your ls/b20 vtec motor.

 

Well maybe all of my buddys STOCK B20Bs are freaks of nature because they have main girdles on them. They do not have oil squirters though.

I'm positive that B20's do not come with block girdles. maybe your buddies' B20s aren't stock afterall. most people who own B20s or LS' use GSR girdles or z10s. I've never heard of a non-vtec B series motor that came from the factory with a girdle.

i agree, non vtecs do not have girdles. Unless one just magically jumped in there.
