Default question about ground controls and the thing that goes on top of the spring

i pieced together a ground control kit

coilover sleeves: 50 bux
threaded pirches: 60 bux
7" 400# spring : 75 shipped

and i'm waiting for another pair of springs, roughly same price range.

there is a piece that goes between the spring and the upper mount, circular etc. is that neccisary? and where can i get them?

i overlooked this and am wondering weather or not my stock upper mounts will support the springs.

could i just get the gc upper mounts to avoid this? or is this something i need regardless?

its the black piece on top the springs

if you get the GC top mounts, they will come with them.

I just cut my stock ones in half....there is a little seam around the middle and I just sliced that with a razor blade...

There's a rubber donut in the stock shock hat that you can cut. #11 in this pic

My GC's only came with two. They replaced the upper spring rubbers in the rear only. You use the stock front rubbers. (at least on a 91 civic si)
