Default d16z6 question.

i was orginally gonna get a d15 but a shop found me a nice d16z6 for a good price, he sent me pix and the valve cover doesnt say vtec is there some years in the d16z6 that didnt say vtec? haha i kinda liked the vtec valve cover but i dont really mind just wondering

i got a d16z6 out of a 93 4-door civic, and the guy told me it was v-tech, and my valve cover doesn't say v-tech either

no our motors are V-tec, vtech is a phone company, u should see the vtec solenoid on urs

Some years didn't come with VTEC on the valve cover. My Z6 in my hatch doesn't have it. Just make sure that you can see the solenoid and if possible, ask for a pic of the engine code that's stamped on the block. Better yet, look at the motor in person to be sure it is a Z6.

I guess it's the 92-93's that don't have VTEC on the valve cover. Couldn't remember which years it was.

From what I've always heard, 92-93 has the regular plain valve cover, and 94-95 had the ones that said "vtec" on them.
