oh ya can someone list the engine codes that were made for the eg/eks'?

 

EG: Civic VX motor, the D15Z1

I think it was rated 52/57 MPG

Other EG Codes

CX: D15B8 1.5L, SOHC, 8 Valves 70 HP
LX/DX: D15B7 1.5L, 16 Valves 102 HP
EX/Si: D16Z6 1.6L, SOHC-VTEC, 128 HP

 

can any tranny be mounted to the D15Z1?

 

Not 100% sure but any 88-00 D Series tranny should bolt up to it. Hopefully someone else can set me straight or verify my claim.

The VX gearing is a big part of why it is fuel efficient. It has really long gearing for fuel efficiency, if you didn't know

most mpg = CRX HF (mainly due to weight of chassis)
Best mpg in 92-00 civic = VX (D15Z1)
any D-series tranny can be mounted to the Z1.
The VX trans is identical to the CX trans out of the same years.

 

another good 1 is the HX 96-00 1.6L vtec-E ..a tad bigger brother of the VX block. D16Y5 = hx ? tis obd2 also.
