Default Making an 00 GSR a little more fun

Hey,
So, there is like a 99% chance that Im going to be picking up a 2000 GSR today around mid afternoon. Im already thinking of little things that I could be doing to make it a little more fun to drive. Im no stranger to Honda's or Acura's, some of you probably know that I had an 01 Civic with a K20A2 swap. So I know ultimately that to make it fun I would want to lower it, get other suspension mods, bolt ons, maybe a turbo, etc.
My question is this. I loved on my previous Honda the feel of the shifter after I put a Neuspeed Short Shift Adapter on it. It made driving the car so much fun. What can I do to a GSR's shifter mechanism to gain the same feel, and fun factor? Ive been trying to find just an adapter and have only found bad write-ups on the DC adapter. Ive read that maybe the C's short shifter would be good. I dont want to lower the stick physically, I just want a shorter throw.
Anyone have any ideas? Ive tried searching (obviously), but didnt come up with much.
Thanks for the help.

Hey, sorry, I know double post...
I wanted to know something though. Ive driving a fair share of hondas. Civics, Preludes, S2000's, etc. Is the accellerator pedel supposed to feel a little stiff on the GSR? It felt still on a 2000 Si that I drove recently as well. I cant think of any other hondas that Ive driving with that pedel feel. Everything else has been pretty light. Maybe WD40 is needed? Or maybe its normal, and Im just going to have to get use to it.

if it doesnt feel like its sticking then its not a problem.. if you feel there is trace the trottle cable down to the throttle body and observe the line for anything unusual, but i doubt there is any problem.. when i went from a LS1 Camaro , the pedal on that was loose as hell, then to my integra i noticed it felt tighter.. but i like that better anyway.

Thanks for the advice. I will make sure to trace that cable to see if there is anything out of the norm.
Any advice on the short shifter?

I actually havent gotten the car yet. Its just going under a full inspection at a shop right now. If they dont find anything, then I will be buying the car. If there is something wrong with it, then I will have to discuss price with the owner of the car, and go from there. But I really dont think there is going to be anything wrong with it.
The only problem is insurance, full coverage, in Sacramento...ouch! I have a clean record, good student discount, etc...roughly $1500-$1600 every 6 months! Talk about bite in the a$$.

Just get a shorter shift ****, ie ITR. The **** is much shorter than stock and will feel "shorter." It felt perfect for me.

Oh yea, the ITR shift ****, and boot are in the plans as well as the short shifter. Along with that are new Mugen Pedels as the origional owner has some ricey, Pep Boys brand gay looking pedels on there right now.
I was thinking about replacing the bushings on the shifter as well. Give it a nicer feel. Any idea where I can pick up some good bushings?
Also, the origional owner has that wind screen that goes just in front of the moon roof. I think it might of been a factory option. Does anyone know if/when I take that off if it had to be drilled into the roof of the car? In other words, when it comes off, are there going to be little drill holes left behind? No big deal if there are, I'll get them filled, just curious. Also the same with mud flaps. Those are on the car, and seriously will be comming off as soon as I get the car home. Is the car going to have any battle wounds from either of those things?
Thanks

the sunroof wind deflector thing is attached with brackets so there will be no drill holes.....the mudflaps are ok to take off too; no damage

Fantastic. I saw those little brackets, and I saw little screws from the top going into those. I wasnt sure how those brackets were attached though.
Thanks so much for that info. That puts me more at ease.
Now all I need is for that shop to give me a call and say that everything is good, then I can go buy it. I'll keep everyone posted.
By the way, its a black on black leather 2000 GSR with less than 50K on the odo. Very nice, my favorite color, cant wait!

What I was trying to say is.....just the ITR shift **** will make it "short" and nothing else is really needed unless the shifter bushings are sloppy.

I GOT THE CAR!!! Im loving it! VTEC isnt as noticable as most cars that Ive driven that have had VTEC. But then I remembered that all those cars at the very least had exhaust. So the noise, feel, etc of VTEC was more pronounced...at least, that what I hope is the difference.
The shifter is actually really nice. The feel of it is really good. I would love to get a new **** for it though at the very least. I took the wind blocker off the roof, very easy to do. I just have to buff out some of the lines that were left behind on the roof it self because of use since the day it left the dealership. Tomorrow the mud guards are comming off, and Im replacing the bald tires on the back.
The best part was negotiation. Asking was $11,500. I knew I could get the two new tires that it needs for about $200 right, but I low ball him to see what he would say...I offer $11K. He says, "well, the best I can do is $10,750." Im like...DEAL! And I got a free factory GSR Blade wheel in the deal for free. It doesnt have a tire, but Im thinkin I would equip it with a tire, and have a full sized spare.
The one thing I dont like about the car, is places to put my stuff. My CD case is too big to really go anywhere. I normally put it in the door on my other cars...its too fat to fit there. Its too fat to fit below the CD player, so its living in the center console area. I dont know where to put my cell phone. Im thinking of doing what I did with my 01 Civic, and putting my belt clip for the phone on the sun visor, and having the phone there. Just stuff that Im going to have to get use to I guess.
I will obviously keep people updated as I begin to mod. First major mod is TEIN FLEX with EDFC. I dont want to hear any crap about it too. I like the TEIN FLEX, and Im lazy, so Im going to spend the extra $300 for the EDFC. Its my car, I dont care how dumb you might think it is.
