ive been searching and reading and have found that alot of people say you should turn your disty 180 if its upsidedown, i guess it fixes disty/car probs. how exactly do you do that? you can loosen the bolts and turn it a few mms but thats just adjusting the timing (adv/ret). i know you can unbolt it but if you turn it around 180 it wont bolt up right. ???

 

to turn the dizzy 180 undo the bolts fully and pull the dizzy out and then you will see the bit that goes in the end of the cam this has 2 lugs on it! turn that bit 180 degress and put it back in and bolt it back up

Is your dizzy upside down now? Im kind of confused by your question....I know that you cannot install the distributor 180 out unless you install the chuck on the distributor shaft reversed. The chuck is staggered forward which makes it only fit on the cam one way.

 

It only REALLY goes in one way. People have been known to persuade them to go in the other, though. If you have to force it, its not right.

 

why would you want to more specifically?

 

dont force the distributor on... i broke off one of the tabs on the distributor trying to do that.
